The concluding event of the LIFE BAQUA project, part of the European Union’s Environment and Climate Action LIFE Programme, was held on October 7. Backed by a consortium of six European partners, including Dibaq, this project aimed to establish a circular economy approach to take advantage of waste generated by a banana plantation. It was a pleasure to participate in this initiative alongside great collaborators and professionals!
At the event, held in early October, we learned the final results of the initiative first hand along with the project adviser and other guests. Also, we enjoyed a panel discussion in which farmers and agricultural associations, industry promoters, politicians and researchers had the chance to debate about the implementation of technology on islands (especially the Canary Islands, Martinique and Madeira) in the future and the relevance of the products obtained.
